Square

Square is a cool system that can let anyone accept credit card payment. I'm trying to figure out if it's cheaper for vendors than conventional credit card systems. This is a cool article that sums it up nicely.

Yeah, that sounds really cool! All I can think of is hearing about how cash will never disappear because of it's "anonymity" - Dr. Macesich's undergrad Money and Banking course. And I was like, "hrmmmmm, that sounds a bit narrow-minded, but I'll know it for the test." Who knows tho. I love seeing reality challenge the know-it-alls... "yes, but does it work in theory?" Blaaaahhhhh.

I believe that it will be difficult to eliminate cash in our generation. Maybe our kids who aren't used to carrying around cash could make that step, but our parents' generation never could. Plus, anonymity would be hard with plastic: explain why 30 different people pay you $5-20 each every day...
